I found out sign "+" late, it was towards week 8 that I realised. No wonder panting & exhaustion starts to come into picture. Good news, could not sleep the next day. However, i did more study the very next day. Can I jog after this? Can I swim? Can I row? Can I tri? Can I do so many things that I loved once? While every pregnancy is different, it is very important to get gynea's nod to continue doing sports. Though Malaysian gyneas are mostly against it, for the fear of safety of the child, however I (being adamantly refusing to accept this) felt that something could be different.

Research after researches done. Tried reading blogs, tried searching for more information, trying to gather every bits of information & put into bigger pics. Then I realise, there are lots of pregnant ladies doing sports out there. I digged up blogs of our running moms out there, they really inspired me.

A conclusion made. General rule, if u are not active before pregnant, DONT do sports. As it is taxing enough to bear the growing weight. However, if we have been doing sports actively just right before preg.. then chances are, just continue doing but not at competitive level.

By now, blood volume starts increasing. Blood vessel starts expanding, more oxygen being carried.. A perfect condition for training to be continued, at least at a moderate level, just enough to stay healthy.
Still, every pregnancy is different. Cant compare one to another. I have friend, she herself suffers from low redblood cell count, yet she manages her 2nd pregnancy already. That inspired me just enough to carry on what I have been doing. The sacrifices she made etc etc.. No one can compare one to another's. All woman out there made their sacrifices. I pray hard to God to make mine come true. Ameen...

  1. who is your gynae? my wife's recent one is cool, liberal and rejects almost all biased cultural innuendoes. Now who says makan pineapples masa pregnant will trigger abortion?

    Good luck!

  6. yay fong!! and i think it's fairly safe to continue your training (albeit at a lower intensity, duration, etc). I read it somewhere also, in Sex and The City the movie one of the girls continued to run even when she was pregnant hehehhe
