Last Minute Training

Gosh, when I was a student, I always had last minute study b4 the finals. I really couldnt believe that I even do it when i am older. Yes, just yesterday for IM race... Somehow, I just realised that I had not tried any brick workout before, I mean a complete one. I had done a short swim-run session or bike-run. Just that.

The plan: half IM. The reality: puzzle with missing pieces. 9am sharp at putrajaya pool, I met Bacin & Azwar. They are Ironman. Spoke to Bacin, the morale booster. He said that it was too late to attempt bricks, however supported me to complete my session. Azwar also pointed that there is a group (already in the pool) will be doing OD brick. So, my training started with some chat, then went into swimming. At 1k, I just stopped for a little while, then there goes Bacin ... DONT STOP.. quickly made a turn n swam again non stop. by 2k at 45min, I realised that everyone has left the pool.

Next was bike 90km. however, only managed to do 85km at 25.6km/hr average, as I cycled where ever my legs bring me to, while doing the calculation in my head. If i did the pergi balik loop. 3 different loops of 15kx2, however only got 85km. By the time i reached car, the group finished all 3 sessions. I got to know that a gurl fell & got 6 stitches at her chin. Hopefully she recovers fast.

It was scorching hot.. only then, i realised that my water for run was all finished up during bike transition. To make things worse, I had to put on long sleeve jacket as I knew my bike jersey would make me chaff . Still continued the run anyway. ran for 5k towards dataran ptjy, bought water. stopped for about 15mins. I asked for ice, then went out to refill with tap water meant for drinking. Refreshed, continued the run back to starting point. I knew that I couldnt continue the 2nd loop already, as I did not have water at starting point of run. Did an additional run around the hills, then ran back to car. Ran at 1:30, I assume the run was about 12-13km. Felt bad that my attempt berlubang here n there, but it was overall ok; mentally & physically. I like that scorching sun part..
