a) Bidor, scenic view

B) tanah rata, sign board, strawberry...
This weekend, my friends planned for a vacation up in Cameron. They planned to do a trail mtb up there. Envy that I cannot join as I have to do IM training; yet I was still adamant to join them.. Rowing geng + their aweks, A.zarin & family, Efa & cousin, a.azam etc... I wanted to join them as well.
Come baby, we are going to join them. We are going to ride up to Cameron. *dasar org degil*. 2 in 1, IM training & vacation. Lagipun, last week I almost rode up to Cameron thinking that my family would celebrate CNY up there. Turns out that mum wants to have quiet celebration in KL.
Saturday morning, 6am from house.. We rode towards dam. Then it was all the way to tapah via old road. Ulu Yam-KKB-Tg Malim-Sungkai-Bidor-Tapah. Except for the big hill at p3 Ulu Yam, the road was flat.. slight hills as we got nearer to Bidor. All the way; light gear.maintained 25km/hr flat road. There is real BIG mountain to climb after tapah. Reaching there at 1.30pm, it was already 160km. Otw there, we met with MSN riders. I flashed my friendliest smile to them, because i felt so motivated just by seeing them. They smiled back. =)
After that, it was all the way up, 60km purely hillwork to Cameron. at about 10km/hr at the higher level. Still light gear, i tried to push & pull the pedal. This way; less painful to the knees, yet more cadence. Plenty of waterfalls as well. Free refill for me.. Alot of org asli as well. Scenery was superb. Though tiring, but watching the nature makes us want to go further. By 5.00pm, already at Ringlet. Hey, this is good; as I did the climb last 2 yrs, i reached RInglet by 6.30pm. I had to ask my parents to pick me up from Ringlet up to Tanah Rata. It was emergency; legs wouldnt go any further.
We continued all the way up. The last 10k from Ringlet - Tanah Rata was the killer climb. Every turn, we saw another 45deg road winding up. As if each sharp turn is copy & paste. Same gradient, same pain to endure. However, we managed to reach up at 6.30pm. Just in time for dinner. haha...
While we did the onroad ride, my 14 other friends did the offroad ride version. They were trying to attempt some trails like the thompsom trail, but apparently it was the tougher one. Equipped with GPRS & some google maps, they started their ride 10am. Target time 9hrs (7pm cut off), but we (the wives & aweks & gurls) waited till 9pm yet no sign of them returning. We were worried. Somehow; we went to pasar brinchang for some shoppings after 9pm. Hey, shopping really did a great job to relieve our worries. No wonder gurls & shoppings are equivalent. Sama hebat.
By the time we came back, still no sign of them. Mesti sesat ni... The gurls waited for them; but I felt the bed menggoda me more. My eyes were 3/4 closed. ZZZzzzz.... Woke up twice to menyibuk wheather they came home or not. Actually I was worried too as they are all my friends. Finally, by 1.30am they came home.
Sunday, today.. We continued our journey back to KL. While the rest were sound asleep, we woke up at 6.30am. All geared up by 7am, however it was still dark. Then A.zarin & acap woke up. We chat till 8am bout their expedition. by 8am, we knew that we had to make a move. It was all the way down, 60k with ease... Shivering.. syiok.. Sweet... Then, all the way flat from tapah back home. Maintained at 28-29km/hr on flats. This time around no need to reserve energy. Reaching Hulu Yam, got a phone call from Mum. Her tone was not a friendly.
Mum: Ni hai mei you hui lai? ( U have not come home yet?)
Me : Wo on the way.... ( I otw)
I conveniently forgot that I promised mum to be back before sunset today. I dropped the gear.. Speed terus. The last 20km was in KL city. 36-38km/hr all the way, occasionally slow down here n there. Mum should scold me more, then i can speed more. Reached home by 6.30pm.. Somehow I still wondered if I did the Cameron ride...
