Kalai Vanakam

a) Scene during Thaipusam, nak nyibuk gak...

b) Batu Caves on normal days

c) Batu Caves from far
Batu Caves, is my other training venue.. whenever I wake up late for my morning session at dam, I head towards Batu Caves. Walking up & down makes us sweat just like when we jog. Highly recommended especially if we do adventure racing. Done correctly, it has less impact than road runnig.. It also strengthens the joints...
Just last week, I decided to menyibuk during peak season of Thaipusam.. I went there to train, tapi also to watch kavadis. It was really delightful to see many people doing their ritual once a year. I did walk up & down the stairs, got some scoldings as well because people are actually doing their prayers there. I was not being offensive. Luckily there were other regular walkers who are Indian as well, so I just stayed closed to them. To run up the stairs are great workouts also, but knees must be strong enough to take the impact.
Try out batu caves for different training environment. It really is a quality workout mentally & physically.
