Felt like wanting to write tonnes & tonnes on this race, my first race after delivery. However, lets just see how it goes. Yup, in fact I had registered for 3 races before this one. Forgo all the previous races due to lack of training & not able to manage Aydeen in between. I was lucky to be able to join this 12hr race, orienteering. Not that I had enough training, but orienteering is always a technical race. You may choose your route to pick check points you want to. The strategy is to pick the minimum place to go, with maximum points. There, I began spreading my poisonous venom into my teammates. (ada yg tak dpt diracun, hehe...wanted to apply for Ian's team, tapi didnt want to drag them along for my lack of training)
Little did we know, the course of the race have been changed. In order to survive the race, we need to go through almost every checkpoints, totaling to about 68km in distance. So much so for wanting to pick & match. Well, there we go, nak ke tak nak, terpakse gak run through the whole distance.
The race was divided into 4 section. Completing each section would earn you the map to another section. 1 map were given at each section. Something like amazing race. We need to run according to the map. Talking bout racing; knowing our level of training & fitness, we had to strategize our race. Section 1 & 2 was doable. Through section 3, most have resorted to walking only. It was a fun race, only dissapointment was organizer who was impatient enough to pick all participants at 10th hour, although total race would be 12hrs. (Macam lar boleh bertahan lagi after 10hr..) Not many teams went through section 4.
There, I had my fat burning session. We ran slowly about 5hrs before beginning to walk through the race. I had time of my life. Compass was mandatory equipment, however, I had my personal device gak. We brought breast pump along.. haha, never before had I pump in the middle of paddy field. Gelap gelita wat.. & super thanks to the kind medical staff for allowing me in their ambulance (siap start engine for aircond tu).. dapat gak aydeen merase powergel/bars =)
Hub was our risk analyst. He sets the route according to our fitness level & possibility of winning the race. Acap was our runner, as he did run some extra miles to the points. While me, I was the pampered queen. Haha, alasan baru lepas bersalin. Later during the race, I took over as pacer at a slow pace, as we have exhausted ourselves. Kudos to both of them as its their first long distance race =) Tak pernah IM, or marathon, or watsoever.. even training lasts less than 1 hr.
Finishing the race felt awesome. Though we only did 10hrs instead of 12hrs, we somehow felt like cloud nines. We were happier when we came to know we came in 2nd place, after Stef's team. I felt so happy for her team, completing the race in 10hrs, having ran 70km in total. There, complaint session started with Ian's team. Right after prize giving ceremony, went back straight to hotel for Aydeen. Owh, mummy missed him. We went shopping at Teluk Intan for a while before heading home. Aydeen pun nak race after dat, race tengok sapa tido lagi lewat.. I kalah...

Wow 2nd place! Congrats! And just recovering from pregnancy some more!
