Tri & Cry @ Kenyir Triathlon 09..

16 hrs of travelling; 3hrs of racing... <- berbaloi ke?? of courz berbaloi..

Thurs - packed all stuff & wrapped bike as well. initial plan was to hitch the organizer's bus. All set & ready to go

Fri - my mind started meddling with my feeling; 90% not going, 10% going to Kenyir.. As i was really busy weeks after IM, hardly have real rest after that till now. It rained heavily, signs for me to forgo Kenyir Tri. But lucky that I agreed with Kash to convoy with Abu to Kenyir, also to Stef on accomodation at Kenyir.. Takkan nak MIA last minute. Somehow I went to Kenyir at last.. Tumpang Kash's car as they might neeed backup driver.. Kash & Day O & me & chitra (next trikidz athlete).. Kash & Day O are first time triathlete.. very determined ladies... 9 hrs of travelling = bontot kembang.. Kash drove 80% of it.. It was Jabo-jelagar Highway.. sounds like that...

Race starts from there itself, from excited heart, non-stop gossiping, ladies chat to heavy eyes, sleepy head & finally we dozed off.. except for Kash, staying alert to steer the wheels.. Me & Day O - took turn to accompany Kash.. Then, helplessly I took over the wheel for a while before Day O taking over. My driving tak membantu langsung..

Sat - Reached Kenyir safe & sound @ 7am.. Hotel was lembap as usual.. sorry to say that, late check-in, frequent electricity breakdown, no TV reception.. Was it even a rated hotel? Or was the hotel celebrating Earth day??? I stayed in hotel, zZZzz while waiting for Stef & geng.. A.Razani & cikgu.. they arrived noon, but we eventually stayed in the hotel whole day till night for briefing. Rained heavily..

Briefing at carbo dinner was like usual, except that we had 1 minute lights off in conjunction of Earth Hour.. Alan the triathlete said that google map would show the whole world in darkness, except for 1 tiny spot in brightly lighted up; Kenyir. Maybe it applies to Msia; as my friend told me that she toured KL that night, bright as ever..

Sun - Race starts @ 8am.. as I was not in a racing mode.. I was still blur.. lagipun my training didnt help that much.. IM was slow & steady, but tri is all about sprinting.. Swim was nice, not in sprinting mode.. I could see alot of bike missing from the rack already.. hop on my bike, terus climbed a killer hill... !#$(*)@#@.. ride was slow till U turn.. Abu overtook me at 1/4 of the ride already.. riding towards Uturn I saw some familiar faces comin back already.. A.Razani chasing some riders, Stef going after a guy rider.. S'pore gurl drafting guy rider as well.. Ema chasing Stef kot, Stef cepat sket, jgn kasik emma kejar.... then Abu was leading a platoon.. & more familiar faces..

I pulak baru gain momentum after the Uturn, ada guy ajak i drafting.. thanks 321 & 414.. u guys brought back my racing mood.. I wasnt fast, but going back was about 30-35km/hr considered fast for me, as i didnt ride at all after IM.. 321 finally terputus from that draft.. 414 on his cervello was abit egoistic,... even better for me, once the speed was slow, I overtook & he started to ignite again to be in front.. our team grew from 2 ppl - about 5 ppl towards the ending...

Run was nice, up & down, cool & hot; u name it, they've got it.. first lap was slow, then 2nd lap was faster as I baru nak kejar org.. managed to overtake 2 girls of same category.. Reaching the finishing line was somehow sweet.. da habis race da pun.. OD is fast.. My time is not good at all, about 3:02 kot, jam mati time swim.. tapi I m still happy as I managed to finish them. Abu & Daus already at finishing line..

Not long after, Farid reached.. then Mejar, then Day - O & Kash, these 2 ladies are the heroine of the day.. first timer & managed to finish race about 3:30.. good work to them.. Kash being first timer, got 10th in her category & cool cash prize money.. her daughter Chitra must be very proud of her mama... Chitra is very intelligent.. Abu says, bestnyer jadi perempuan.. hehe.. At this rate of improvement, very soon abu will be top 10 ranking too..

Day-O plak, panic-attack stroke her during swim.. she was 99% near to quitting, but her strong determination kept her moving... they both finished beautifully... I pulak was announced as 6th finisher, received some cash money as well. Stef came 3rd overall & 3rd in her category.. kaya seyh.. 1st was surprisingly a young S'pore triathlete from NUS.

After prize presentation, makan then packed & balik.. race was not over yet..then we had to travel another 8 hrs back to KL. this time we used the Gua Musang route.. Long & winding.. 3 cars to convoy; our car was all-ladies car.. Gossip bab II; guy A, bila buka baju - meleleh air liur.. guy B, laki ni cute aa bile pakai cmni... guy C, he looks gay abit.. & lots of DO YOU KNOW topic.ni race ke cuci mate??? tetibe half way through, kite tak tahan & got to answer nature's call kat one of the bushes.. stopped the car kat road side...

Stopped @ Gua Musang R&R kot... Kash & I belanja nasik ayang.. hehe.. sedap plak tu.. Y tetibe korg stop tadi?? erm.. Chitra yg tak tahan.. kite point kat her, sian die... die tak bersalah...

then continued all the way back to kl.. at bentong petronas station, kelam kabut i went to the toilet & took over the steering.. Not knowing that my hp terjatuh kat petronas station tu.. balik smpai umah baru i realise my hp da hilang.. sedey nyer... kenyir was nice.. mcm family tri plak kite ni.. tp i almost cried gak coz hp hilang.. mahal beb... terpakse i use my hp beras now, for the time being...
